Telling stories in Nom Kior on the banks of the Mekong in Laos

'Is this a dog?
Does this say dog?
oh dear...
'Woof.'..What does a dog say?'
Leith trying to make sense of the Laotian written  language.... much to the children's amusement!

  1. I think it's time to try this blogging out. I have managed it within a University course but never outside in the wide wide world of the web.
Our work in Laos has led me to TWB. We loved everything about the experience and have formed a strong connection to a Deaf mute centre in Luang Phrabang. Rachel organized to take a team of Rotarians and a audiologist to check the children's hearing in January this year. They discovered that 24 of these children can hear...something.... and with assistance from a hearing aid they may be able to function in the yearning world. This is such a huge revelation and it weighs heavily upon us...how to progress ?? I have been a Special needs education for many years. How do we support these children as they enter a hearing world without fear?? I have spent months pondering this question and am still doing so...except that I have recently
